Welcome to the College of Food Sciences, which is one of the colleges of Al-Qasim Green University and whose establishment was approved according to the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 4119 on 8/21/2013 as one of the formations of Al-Qasim Green University in Babylon Governorate to be a pioneering college at the level of Iraq specializing in Food Sciences: This college is distinguished by being the only college in Iraq that specializes in this field. The College of Food Sciences consists of three scientific departments: the Department of Dairy Science and Technology, the Department of Food Science and Technology, and the Department of Food health and Nutrition, which was recently established. The college offers a rare program And distinguished in Iraq and the region in order to meet the needs of the market.
The professional academic training provided by the college to motivate students is directed by distinguished faculty members and is supported by highly experienced staff. In addition to the preliminary studies, in which the graduate is awarded a bachelor’s degree, postgraduate studies were created to study a master’s degree in the Department of Dairy Science and Technology in the academic year 2019-2020. The college's strategy is based on creating a cultural and scientific environment for students in order to improve their scientific skills and experiences in addition to academic and social development, through various activities such as training programs, workshops, and providing students with opportunities to attend national and international conferences. Members of the College of Food Sciences have received many awards and patents, and approximately 30 research papers are published annually in local and international journals in multiple research fields, including food chemistry and technology, food safety, food microbiology, and in the science and technology of grains, dairy, meat, food additives, and the fields of nutrition.
